Shropshire Community Hall is Heating and Cooking on Gas

Shropshire Gas has commenced work on a local Shropshire community centre, installing state-of-the-art energy efficient heating and a new cooking facility.The development has been praised for its green technologies which will set a new standard of energy efficiency for this size and type of building.

The official start of the installation was marked by a visit from the appliance manufacturer and suppliers, joining representatives from the local community and the Shropshire Gas team.

The Community Chairman said “This building enhances the village and acts as a catalyst for attracting further interest and community events. The upgrades installed by Shropshire Gas will make the community centre more user friendly and will be a boost to our local events and economy.

The building with energy efficient heating will feature formal and informal meeting facility, a restaurant area with dining for up to 120 people, a training or conference room and an innovation section showcasing the new green technology installed by Shropshire Gas including condensing boilers, ground source heat pumps and solar panels.
Shropshire Gas employees will work quickly to ensure the premises are refurbished to allow community events to continue in later on in March this year.
